DBI Installation

Perl DBI and DBD::* Modules Install $Revision: 1.2 $

This requiers a ODBC Driver Manager. I suggest to use the unixODBC package.

This module depends on the Perl Modules "Getopt-Long" and "DBI". These packages are available by www.cpan.org.

Usually it is not possible to install such stuff with CPAN shell, since the tests will fail. The Makefile installs it even if the test failed. This is ok on SuSE distries and propably on others, since usually the DBI modules are working. There is a dbi-test.pl script available which can be used for testing both ODBC and Pg drivers. Check out the INSTALL document as a kind of READEM :)

Note for SuSE 7.3 ODBC users

For some strange reason, it won't work :) Please use


make odbc73

to make and install it.
