Simpletraceroute Browse

This tool is like the well-known traceroute. It's licensed under the terms of the GNU Public License. See file COPYING for details.

In verbose mode, the whole received packet is displayed (both as raw hex and parsed).
In burst mode, it scans very fast (but not reliable :)).
Lot's of packets are sent at one time. Between the burst send rounds simpletraceroute receives and analyzes them. This mode is used to get a quick idea of the number of HOPs to the host, but the route may not be fully correct and the timings are not exact.
But it is really fast - i.e. 10 (ten) times faster that traceroute :)!
